Product Overview

One Sensor. Safer Residents. Smarter Care.

QURATEC’s Nurse Assist solution brings intelligent monitoring technology into care environments to help protect residents, support care teams and enable faster responses when they matter most.

Powered by advanced technology, Nurse Assist uses a discreet smart sensor to intelligently monitor a room around the clock. From detecting a fall to recognising when somebody is getting out of bed, the system can identify important events and automatically alert care teams – helping staff focus their attention where it is needed most.

360°

One ceiling sensor sees the whole room, with no other devices needed.

On-device

AI analysis runs inside the sensor. No image data is stored.

Real time

Events and changes in behaviour are recognised as they happen.

Nurse-call

Alerts arrive through the alarm systems your team already uses.

It’s not about replacing people with technology. It’s about giving care teams another pair of eyes.

How It Works

One Room. One Sensor. Intelligent Support.

A single discreet ceiling-mounted sensor provides a 360° panoramic view of the room, helping Nurse Assist understand activity without requiring multiple monitoring devices.

AI-powered analysis takes place directly within the device, allowing defined events and changes in behaviour to be recognised in real time. When something requires attention, an alert can be sent to the appropriate care team through existing nurse-call or alarm management systems.

The result is simple: greater awareness, quicker intervention and more time for care.

The Process

How An Alert Reaches Your Team

01

The sensor sees the room

One ceiling-mounted sensor, a 360° panoramic view, and no other monitoring devices in the room.

02

The device analyses it

AI-powered analysis takes place directly within the device, in real time.

03

The right team is alerted

When something requires attention, an alert is sent through your existing nurse-call or alarm management systems.

04

Care teams respond

Greater awareness, quicker intervention and more time for care.

Detection

What Can Nurse Assist Detect?

Recognising these events can provide an earlier indication that somebody may require assistance before a more serious incident occurs.

Falls

Nurse Assist can automatically recognise a fall and immediately alert care staff, helping reduce the time between an incident occurring and assistance arriving.

The technology can also distinguish whether somebody is sitting or lying on the floor, providing care teams with additional information to help assess the situation.

Bed Activity

For residents who may be at greater risk when leaving their bed, Nurse Assist can identify several stages of movement, including:

  • Person in bed
  • Person out of bed
  • Sitting up in bed
  • Sitting on the edge of the bed

Room Movement

Nurse Assist can provide greater awareness of movement throughout the room, including when somebody enters or leaves, spends an extended period in the bathroom or gets up from a chair.

Rather than relying solely on an incident having already happened, this allows care teams to respond to defined situations and potential risks earlier.

Lying Position Monitoring

Nurse Assist can also monitor changes in a resident’s lying position. If somebody remains in the same position for an unusually long period or does not change position within a defined timeframe, the system can notify care staff.

This information can support individual care plans and pressure-ulcer prevention measures, providing another valuable layer of insight for care teams.

Privacy First

Privacy Built Into The Technology

Safety shouldn’t come at the expense of dignity.

Nurse Assist has been designed with privacy at its core. AI analysis takes place directly on the device, with sensitive image sensor data not transmitted or stored as part of the Nurse Assist analysis.

This enables care teams to benefit from intelligent room monitoring while maintaining a privacy-conscious environment for residents.

To Be Clear

What it isn’t

Conventional CCTV watching somebody around the clock.

What it is

Intelligent technology designed to recognise defined situations and provide the right information when care teams need it.

Integration

Designed Around Care Teams

Technology should make care easier – not introduce another complicated system for staff to manage.

Nurse Assist can integrate with existing nurse-call and alarm management systems, meaning alerts can be delivered through communication channels already familiar to care teams.

It can also integrate with your product HUB, providing a central dashboard from which staff can view alarms, status information and activity across multiple rooms – this makes the solution suitable for individual rooms as well as larger, multi-room deployments.

Proactive Care

Supporting Proactive Care

Traditional monitoring can often be reactive: an incident happens, an alarm is raised and somebody responds. Nurse Assist introduces another layer.

By recognising events such as somebody sitting on the edge of their bed, leaving their bed or remaining in one position for an extended period, the technology can help care teams identify situations that may require attention before they develop further.

That creates an opportunity to move from simply detecting incidents towards supporting preventative and proactive care.

Quieter Nights

Less Disruption. More Time For Care.

Routine checks are an important part of care, but they can also be time-consuming for staff and disruptive for residents – particularly during the night.

By providing continuous intelligent monitoring and recognising normal, non-critical situations, Nurse Assist can help care teams make more informed decisions about when physical intervention or checks may be required.

For residents, that can mean fewer unnecessary disturbances. For care teams, it can mean more time available for meaningful, person-centred care.

Where It Works

Designed For Different Care Environments

Nurse Assist can support organisations across a variety of health and care settings, including:

  • Residential care homes
  • Nursing homes
  • Assisted living environments
  • Hospitals
  • Supported living environments
  • Home care applications

The solution can be configured and scaled according to the needs of the organisation, individual environment and people receiving care.

Technology Supporting People

The purpose of Nurse Assist isn’t to take the human element out of care. It’s to strengthen it.

By combining intelligent detection, automated alerts, privacy-conscious monitoring and integration with existing care systems, Nurse Assist gives care teams greater visibility of what is happening – without requiring them to physically be in every room at every moment.

Earlier awareness. Faster responses. Greater reassurance – technology working quietly in the background, so people can remain at the heart of care.
